Toolholder Features
This toolholder features a shim/seat (retained by a shim pin) and has a Lever Lock clamping mechanism to secure the insert. The L-shaped lever grips the centre hole of the insert from underneath and draws it into the corner of the pocket when the lever screw is tightened. Unlike normal toolholders, with this clamping mechanism, the Europa holder features an additional top clamp to secure the insert from the top down. This means the toolholder can be used with lever lock and top clamp mechanisms in place OR in the event of swarf catching and gathering on the top clamp (known as "Birdsnesting"), the top clamp can be removed without affecting the stability of the insert.
