About us
We were originally a small family company, founded in Scotland in 1982. Back then, Helen and Matthew started as engineering supplies merchants, supplying tooling to manufacturing companies. As their children grew, Sarah-Jane came into the family business and began developing an online website back in 1996 and started selling online in 1997 with www.engineeringsupplies.co.uk This was handed over to her brother Simon in 2000 who has continued to expand and develop the engineering consumables range.
In 2002, Sarah-Jane married and moved to Norfolk - starting another branch, devoted to selling multi fuel and wood burning stoves. She is a technical sales advisor and front of house for the Attleborough, Norfolk showroom and warehouse depot, with hundreds stoves in stock. Simon now runs the Hamilton branch where we predominantly supply aerospace, the oil & gas industry, motorsport (including most of the well known F1 teams) and Ministry of Defence. After finishing his masters degree in management consultancy and automated systems Simon integrated this into the engineering supplies business. This has allowed us to help many engineering firms streamline their operations, making the most of the latest technical engineering solutions and products, whilst making significant cost savings.
Simon is very much like his father though and including the terrible jokes, likes to get involved in learning many new skills and is not afraid to get his hands dirty. When he's not doing night school classes in welding or various languages, he's usually covered in oil restoring cars. Past projects include building an AC Cobra, restoring two Lotus Esprit S1 cars to concours condition and currently rebuilding a Ford FE big block V8 Engine.
Reputation is very important to our business and so as part of our ethos we make a point of selling well known, reliable, tested brands that we believe will not let our customers down. We do not sell own brand cheap imports to compete on price and where possible we will always try to sell products from manufacturers within the UK at a competitive price that assure performance and accuracy.

We do have a depot which you are able to visit and view the majority of the stock we sell.
