About High Feed Milling
High feed milling is a fantastic method for metal removal at high speeds. It highly adaptable for various applications (such as: Plunge Milling; Face Milling; Interpolation; Pocket Milling; and Ramp milling). With high feed milling (unlike conventional milling) only a small depth of cut is taken. The benefits of this are that there is less pressure on the machine, the tool and the inserts that dramatically increase their lifespan. Furthermore, with a small depth of cut, the heat goes into the chip rather than the job. This prevents the job from work hardening, that would make it much more challenging to machine after the first or second pass (usually resulting in worn or chipped inserts).
Features
Takes a positive lozenge shaped insert for a multitude of applications.
Inserts are available in 3 geometries and multiple grades to cover cutting almost all workpiece materials.
