About our Gauge Plate / Ground Flat Stock
Gauge plate/ground flat stock is a tool steel of high quality (grade 01) supplied in an annealed state. The material is ground on its thickness and width to a fine tolerance. While the material in its supplied state is soft enough to machine it has the ability to be wear resistant and reach very high levels of hardness (maximum of 62 degrees Rockwell) with hardly any movement. This allows the material to be used in a wide diversity of engineering applications.
