About our Axial / Radial 5 Piece Boring Bar Set - 18mm:
This boring bar kit is designed to fit into our 75mm Diameter Boring head (Part number: OM31434) or other boring heads with a 18mm holder capacity.
Unlike older braized tool kits, this kit is indexable (it takes carbide inserts). The benefit of indexable holders are that once the edge wears or breaks the insert can be turned to a new sharp cutting edge. The other major advantage of using an indexable system is that there are a large selection of radii, grades, geometries and coatings to machine whatever material you come up against.
